Why must participants wear Muslim dress instead of proper sportswear?

I'm a fitness instructor interested in organising this challenge for my clients, but I'm struggling to understand why participants must wear full Muslim dress instead of appropriate athletic wear. From a safety and performance perspective, it seems counterintuitive to require clothing that restricts movement and absorbs water.

How to secure hijab during the challenge?

Some sisters are worried about their hijab becoming unfastened or slipping during all the crawling, climbing, and water obstacles. The thought of losing their hijab in front of others during such an intense physical challenge makes some quite anxious about participating. What practical solutions help keep hijabs secure throughout the event?

Make it easy for niqabis

I think it is quite daft to expect sisters to do this challenge while wearing jilbab and full niqab. Not only is it impractical and a potential safety issue, but it also puts them at a serious disadvantage. Wouldn't it be better to focus on making it a strict ladies-only event, so they can relax their dress instead?

Can participants wear salwar kameez?

Most of our community tends to wear salwar kameez rather than abayas --- it's our cultural norm and still Islamic and modest. Do we have to wear abayas specifically, or can we participate in our usual salwar kameez?

How do we check if participants are fit enough?

How do we assess whether participants are physically capable of completing the challenge safely? I don't want to be discriminatory, but I also don't want someone to get hurt because they weren't prepared for the physical demands. What's the best approach for evaluating fitness and health readiness?

I'm worried assault course venues might not be comfortable with participants wearing full Muslim dress. Have other organisers had problems with venues being unwilling to accommodate Muslim women?

How can we persuade our madrasah teacher to lead the challenge?

We're a group of madrasah mums who want to do the Trials & Tribulations challenge, but we really think our madrasah teacher would be the perfect leader. She's so respected in our community and always guides us through everything else, but she seems hesitant about this. She keeps saying she's "not the sporty type" and doesn't think she's right for it. How can we help her see that she'd be amazing at this and convince her to step forward?

How can I encourage my local halaqa to take on this challenge?

I've been reading about the Trials & Tribulations challenge and I'm really inspired by the idea of combining physical challenge with spiritual reflection whilst raising funds for refugees. My local halaqa has about 12 sisters who meet weekly -- we're quite close mashAllah and always support each other, but I'm not sure how to bring up the idea of doing something quite so adventurous. Most of us are mums with busy schedules, and honestly, some might feel intimidated by the physical side. How do I introduce this without overwhelming anyone or making them feel pressured?

How do we find suitable venues for our challenge?

How do we find and book appropriate venues for the trek and obstacle course? We're not sure where to start looking or what criteria we should use to evaluate potential locations. What are the key considerations for choosing venues that will create the right experience?

What’s the minimum viable group size?

What's the minimum group size needed to run a meaningful challenge? I'm trying to gauge whether we have enough interest to make this worthwhile. Would it be better to wait until we can gather a larger group, or can smaller numbers still create the transformative experience we're aiming for?
