For husband
- Regular daily clothes: Reflecting refugee reality of sudden departure
- Comfortable modest clothing: Long trousers, long-sleeve shirt
- Waterproof footwear: Boots or sturdy trainers suitable for mud and water
- Small backpack: Carrying shared essentials including wife’s backup items
- Extra layers: Additional clothing to offer wife if needed
For wife
- Full-length abaya: Dark colour recommended to hide mud and wear
- Secure hijab: Sports undercap with traditional hijab, well-pinned
- Waterproof base layer: Moisture-wicking underlayers for comfort
- Sturdy footwear: Boots compatible with abaya that provide good grip
- Safety equipment: Extra hijab pins and backup one-piece hijab
- Practical modifications: Ensuring abaya allows movement whilst maintaining coverage
Shared equipment
- Water bottles: Sufficient hydration for both during event
