Approximately one-hour travel creating reflection opportunity:

  • Minimal information: Not revealing destination or day’s full agenda
  • Guided reflection: Teachers offering occasional prompts about refugee journeys
  • Uncertainty experience: Allowing students to sit with not knowing what comes next

Arrival at Holmwood Common

  • Inholms car park: North side of Holmwood Common in Surrey (or equivalent location)
  • Natural environment: Ancient woodlands and diverse habitats
  • Briefing moment: Students informed they’ll spend day “walking in refugees’ shoes”
