Participant recruitment
The charity reaches out to Islamic educational institutions across London and surrounding areas to recruit the madrasah students’ mothers.
Nomination process
- Target madrasahs: 3-5 institutions invited to participate
- Participant profile: 10 everyday mums per madrasah, representing normal community members rather than fitness enthusiasts
- Selection criteria: Women who wouldn’t typically participate in athletic events but are willing to challenge themselves for charity
- Community representation: Ensuring diverse representation from different madrasah communities
Group leadership provision
- Professional trainers: Each madrasah group assigned a qualified fitness leader
- Pre-event support: Leaders conduct preparation sessions and team-building activities
- Day-of-event guidance: Leaders accompany groups throughout entire challenge
- Safety responsibility: Leaders trained in first aid and emergency procedures

Collaboration with Camelot Events at Henfold Lakes provides:
- Professional obstacle course setup: Customised challenges reflecting refugee experiences
- Safety supervision: Qualified staff stationed throughout course
- Equipment provision: All necessary materials for challenges and safety
- Insurance coverage: Professional liability and participant protection
Medical and safety support
- St John’s Ambulance: Medical tent and qualified first aid personnel on-site
- Emergency procedures: Clear protocols for injury or medical emergency
- Risk management: Professional assessment and mitigation of all challenge elements
- Communication systems: Radio contact between all staff positions
Transport logistics
- Minibus coordination: Charity arranges collection from each participating madrasah
- Timely arrival: Coordinated pickup ensuring all groups arrive together
- Return transport: Safe return to original pickup points after event completion
- Equipment management: Participants’ belongings secure during transport
